La Crepe OG

Rating: 5 out of 5.

I know what you are probably thinking. “This is an ice cream blog, why are you reviewing a crepe place?” Well, surprisingly enough, La Crepe OG has one of the coolest frozen treats out there. In addition to having the tastiest crepes (I recommend giving the pesto-chicken a try), they have shakes that are simply off the wall. If you are looking for a trendy, eclectic spot to grab a bite, La Crepe OG is the restaurant for you.

About La Crepe OG

La Crepe OG is located in a picturesque alleyway in the heart of downtown Ogden, Utah. They have all sorts of delicious eats including savory crepes, sweet crepes, an assortment of hot and iced coffees, specialty shakes and waffles, smoothies, and churros. La Crepe OG is open Monday through Saturday from the morning into the evening, so it is a great place to stop for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert. But if you had to pick just one meal, my suggestion would be dessert! The prices here are a bit on the expensive side ($10 for a crepe, $14 for the specialty shake), but you are paying for a special food experience, and a delicious food experience as well.

My Experience

I found the food and the ice cream at La Crepe OG to be top-tier. The outdoor seating was charming and the service was great. The people who worked the store were very accommodating and walked by twice to make sure we had everything we needed. Although the atmosphere and service were both wonderful, the ice cream was by far the best part. After eating dinner (which was also mouthwatering), I ordered the strawberry cheesecake shake.

La Crepe OG, strawberry cheesecake shake

I decided to come to La Crepe OG because I had heard the they had the coolest, craziest shakes. I was not disappointed. The dessert was set on the table in all its glory; mug trimmed with vanilla frosting and graham crackers, filled to the brim with strawberry ice cream, whipped cream, and strawberry glaze. To top it off, there was an entire slice of cheesecake with strawberry syrup and a kabob of fresh strawberries and a smaller piece of strawberry cheesecake. Sometimes with strawberry ice cream, the strawberry flavor can taste fake. That was not the case with this dessert. The flavor was sweet and smooth without being overpowering. Pairing that with an actual cheesecake made the experience all the more decadent.

All in all, I loved my experience at La Crepe OG. I will definitely be stopping by again for more crepes and another shake when I’m in Ogden. I am going to give this restaurant and the ice cream 5 out of 5 stars. Although it was on the expensive side, I found the entire experience to be worthwhile and one of the most delicious things I have eaten.

I also considered the experience beneficial because it allowed me to check off something I didn’t even know was on my bucket list. La Crepe OG is the perfect place to go to celebrate special occasions such as a birthday, an anniversary, or a Wednesday. Note that if you decide to swing by La Crepe OG, one shake can easily feed two people, especially if you get dinner as well. Let me know what you think when you visit La Crepe OG!
