Farr Better Ice Cream

Farr Better Ice Cream, ice cream reviews

The first word that popped into my head when I walked into Farr’s Better Ice Cream was “quaint.” Located right across from the Ogden Temple at 274 21st St, Ogden, UT 84401, Farr’s 50’s themed interior invites a energetic atmosphere perfect for hanging with friends or a family night out. Farr Better Ice Cream can also be found at a variety of stores and events across Utah, such as Utah Jazz or Salt Lake Bees games and can be bought by the cone, pint or quart.

How Long Has Farr Ice Cream Been Around?

One cannot discuss Utah ice cream without talking about Farr Better Ice Cream. Farr has been harvesting ice (that’s right, harvesting, like Kristoff from the movie Frozen) since 1895 and selling ice cream since 1929. It is beloved for its wide variety of flavors, the history it has in Weber valley, and its (ironically) warm shop ambience.

My Review of Farr Better Ice Cream

I visited Farr’s with high hopes, and I was not disappointed. I found the price reasonable at about $4.00 for a hearty single-scoop with a waffle cone. I ordered a classic chocolate scoop with a marshmallow drizzle. The consistency was smooth and creamy and the flavor could only be described as malt-y. The cone was one of the best I’ve tasted, sweet and slightly chewy. Another fun addition that I found useful was their cone holders. It was a bit melty, and their solution was perfect. I did not get one drip on me and I’m one messy creature.

Overall, I would describe Farr Better Ice Cream as a must try if you’re visiting northern Utah and if you’re a local, what are you doing?! Get over there, go go go! My personal ratings follow:
